【Abstract】
· What are the new teaching and learning trends in the world in 2017?
· Will our plan and method still fit them?
· With the rapid developed technology and fast-innovated teaching and learning strategy, how shall we improve our course to meet the current students’ needs? This presentation introduces the current trend of modern teaching and learning especially in 2017. It explores the background theory and philosophy of the west education and how these are implemented into their teaching and learning practice. Also it gives the suggestion on how to efficiently and effectively use these theories. eLearning or teaching online is not just simply putting lecture notes online. Course contents need to be designed and implemented from both cognitive and behaviour aspects as well as other areas. Hope this topic can give people a practical guide on their online course design and development.

Current position: Academic Advisor & e-Learning technologist at Teaching and Learning Centre, Unitec Institute of technology, Auckland, New Zealand Mr Liu has specialised in e-Learning and teaching strategy. He has more than 10 years online course design and management experience and presented as a speaker in many national and international conferences each year. As a key person in teaching innovation, he was the e-learning manager at e-BLS Ltd; e-Learning coordinator at Practical Education Institute; Operational manager at NZEdSoft Ltd. Before moving New Zealand, he was a Secretory general of Shaanxi Industry Design Association; Executive director of Xi’an Industry Design Aassociation; Member of Teaching Innovation Group
