  • Biography

    Guangxi Zhang is a Professor and Master’s Supervisor at the School of Management, Zhejiang University of Technology. Her main research interests include creativity in organizations, ethical leadership, and social networks. She obtained her M.Sc. in Psychology from Zhejiang University in 2006 and her Ph.D. in Management from City University of Hong Kong in 2012. During her doctoral studies, she received the Chow Yei Ching School of Graduate Studies Scholarship and was inducted as a lifetime member of Beta Gamma Sigma, the international honor society for business scholars.

    Dr. Zhang has published extensively in leading international and domestic journals, including Journal of Business Ethics (FT50), Journal of Product Innovation Management (ABS 4-star), International Journal of Human Resource Management, Journal of Business and Psychology, Information Technology & People, Asia Pacific Journal of Management, Industry & Innovation, and Management World (《管理世界》). She has also published two monographs. Her research has been presented multiple times at the Academy of Management (AOM) Annual Meeting, and one of her papers was nominated for the Best Conference Paper Award in 2012.

    She has served as the principal investigator for one project funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) and one by the National Social Science Fund (NSSF), as well as seven provincial and ministerial projects. She has also participated in several key national and general research projects. Dr. Zhang’s work has earned her the Second Prize for Outstanding Young Achievements in Social Sciences of Zhejiang Province, and the Third Prize for Excellent Achievements in Philosophy and Social Sciences of Zhejiang Province. She has been selected for multiple talent programs, including the Zhejiang “Zhijiang Young Social Science Scholars Action Plan”, the Zhejiang 151 Talent Program, and the Zhejiang University of Technology Young Talent Support Program. She also completed a visiting scholarship at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, USA.

    In teaching and academic administration, Dr. Zhang has served as Deputy Director of the Department of Business Administration, and as a member of the School’s Degree Committee and Undergraduate Teaching Steering Committee. She teaches courses such as Organizational Behavior, Industry Analysis and Strategic Investment, Management (English-taught), Advanced Organizational and Management Theories, and Academic Writing.

    Her teaching achievements include the Second Prize (Senior Faculty Group) in the 4th Teaching Innovation Competition of Zhejiang University of Technology, the Second Prize in the 2nd Micro-Lecture Teaching Skills Competition, and the Excellence Award in the 9th Young Faculty Teaching Skills Competition. Her course Organizational Behavior was recognized as a First-Class Course in Zhejiang Province and was selected as a National First-Class Undergraduate Course in 2023.

  • Achievement

    In terms of teaching and teaching management, he served as a member of the undergraduate teaching guidance committee of the School of Management at Zhejiang University of Technology and a member of the Zhejiang University Degree Committee. He mainly taught industry analysis and strategic investment, and organizational behavior to undergraduates; academic paper writing, organizational behavior and human resources frontier topics and literature reading, organizational behavior, and management theory and frontiers to graduate and doctoral students; and management (in English) to international students. He served as the homeroom teacher for two undergraduate classes and served as a member of the Party branch of Business Administration and a Party building instructor.
