To continuously advance the construction of a campus culture of equality, diversity and inclusion (EDI), effectively safeguard the legitimate rights and interests of all faculty and staff members, Zhejiang University of Technology strictly complies with the relevant laws, regulations and policy spirits of the state and Zhejiang Province, actively fulfills the social responsibilities of an employer, and has formulated and strictly implemented specific measures in such areas as the employment security of persons with disabilities and the labor protection of female employees.
In accordance with the spirit of documents including Implementation Opinions of Six Departments including Zhejiang Provincial Department of Human Resources and Social Security on Improving the Employment Security Fund System for Persons with Disabilities to Better Promote Their Employment (Zhejiang Human Resources and Social Security Issuance〔2020〕No.58), the university has taken systematic measures to promote the employment of persons with disabilities. The core of the policy is to establish a more effective incentive and restraint mechanism by improving the employment security fund system for persons with disabilities. The university not only fulfills its social responsibility of employing persons with disabilities in proportion in accordance with the law, but also actively expands job positions suitable for persons with disabilities, optimizes the working environment and facilities, and provides necessary vocational training and job adaptation support for employees with disabilities. By standardizing the collection, use and management of the security fund, the university is committed to effectively transforming relevant policy resources into a driving force for promoting the stable and high-quality employment of persons with disabilities, and creating a more inclusive and barrier-free campus workplace environment.
Meanwhile, Zhejiang University of Technology earnestly implements the Measures for the Labor Protection of Female Employees in Zhejiang Province and comprehensively strengthens the special labor protection of female employees. The university strictly enforces all protection regulations concerning female employees during menstruation, pregnancy, maternity leave and lactation (the Four Periods), including the reasonable arrangement of working hours, provision of necessary working conditions, and implementation of maternity leave and breastfeeding time. In addition, the university focuses on preventing and stopping gender discrimination and harassment in the workplace, actively establishes fair promotion and development channels, supports female employees in balancing work and family responsibilities, and strives to build a harmonious working environment that respects gender differences, safeguards women's rights and interests, and supports women's career development.
