This year marks the 20th anniversary of the proposal of the concept that lucid waters and lush mountains are invaluable assets. Over the past 20 years, under the guidance of this Two Mountains concept, China has made remarkable achievements in ecological civilization construction that have attracted worldwide attention, becoming a powerful driving force for promoting ecological civilization development and achieving self-reliance and self-improvement in green technology.
On August 15, 2025, the main event of the National Ecological Day held the Conference on Major Achievements in the 20 Years Since the Proposal of the 'Lucid Waters and Lush Mountains Are Invaluable Assets' Concept. Two achievements led by ZJUT were selected into the Twenty Major Scientific and Technological Achievements in the Field of Ecological Civilization: Key Technologies and Applications of New Membrane-based Water Treatment, led by ZJUT, Hou Li'an, Gao Congjie, Zheng Yuguo, and other experts; R&D and Application of Key Technologies for Ultra-low Emission of Coal-fired Power Units, led by President Gao Xiang. Notably, the latter achievement won the First Prize of the National Technology Invention Award in 2017.
