On March 11th, a donation ceremony for the Rising Sun Youth Development Fund established by the Rising Sun Industrial Group Co., Ltd. was held at the Shao Ke Hall in the Chaohui Campus. Sun Yang, the chairman of the Rising Sun Group (an alumnus of the Fine Chemical Engineering major, class of 1992), visited the campus. President Gao Xiang, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, and Vice President Chen Yao attended the event.
President Gao Xiang welcomed the delegation from the Rising Sun Group and expressed gratitude to Sun Yang and the company for their long-term support for the development of the university. Sun Yang shared his entrepreneurial story and the wonderful time he spent at Zhejiang University of Technology.
At the ceremony, President Gao Xiang presented Sun Yang with the Outstanding Contribution to Education Award of Zhejiang University of Technology, and Vice President Chen Yao presented the donation certificate to the Rising Sun Group. The ceremony also included the awarding of the Rising Sun Sunward Teaching and Scholarship Awards.
