Recently, the winners of the German iF DESIGN STUDENT AWARD 2024 have been announced. The design work of Wang Yihang and other undergraduate students from the Industrial Design Department of the School of Design and Architecture of ZJUT won the iF DESIGN STUDENT AWARD 2024 and was selected as the BEST OF THE YEAR award.
The “Infinity Block” is an innovative wooden block toy designed to promote brain vitality and creativity, with a particular focus on cognitive decline in the elderly. The iF DESIGN STUDENT AWARD 2024 received more than 10,000 entries from 72 countries around the world and only 76 were awarded, with a winning rate of less than 1%. Among them, there are only 9 BEST OF THE YEAR award in the world, and the proportion of awards is only 0.1%. The “Infinity Block” is the only work from mainland China to achieve this honor in 2024 and is the first time students from ZJUT have received this significant award. Additionally, this work has also won the Red Dot Award for Concept Best of the Best and will be invited to attend the award ceremony at the Red Dot Museum in Singapore in October.
