The 70th anniversary commemoration ceremony of Zhejiang University of Technology (ZJUT) was grandly held on the morning of October 21st, 2023, at the Pingfeng Campus gymnasium, with multiple platforms broadcasting the event globally.
Lu Shan, Vice Governor of Zhejiang Province, Du Jiangfeng, President of Zhejiang University and Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and alumni Wu Chengzhi, former Vice Governor of Qinghai Province attended the ceremony. Academicians of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Chinese Academy of Engineering also attended the ceremony, including Sun Youxian, Gao Congjie, Shen Yinchu, and Gao Xiang.
Among the attendees were Chen Hao, Secretary of the Huzhou Municipal CPC Committee, Jiang Zhengui, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Government, Major General Jin Zhenzhong of the People’s Liberation Army, representatives from various cities such as Hangzhou, Huzhou, Shaoxing, and officials from the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government Liaison Office in Zhejiang, leaders of more than 70 domestic and international universities and research institutes, including the University of Queensland, Australia, Ashikaga University, Japan, the University of Northern California Medical School, United States, and the University of Ghana, and executives from companies such as China Electric Power Research Institute and Hangzhou Iron and Steel Group.
Cai Yuanqiang, Secretary of the CPC Committee of ZJUT, presided over the ceremony. President Gao Xiang, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, delivered the keynote speech. Over three thousand representatives from various sectors, teachers and students celebrated the anniversary together.
Gao Xiang, on behalf of ZJUT, extended a warm welcome to the guests attending the ceremony, expressed sincere gratitude to the society as a whole for its continuous support, and conveyed greetings to all the faculty, staff, students, and alumni worldwide.
During the ceremony, “Jianxing Honor Award” and “Outstanding Alumni Award” were presented, along with a ceremony expressing gratitude to the local government.
The event concluded with a collective singing of the ZJUT anthem, expressing good wishes for the future of the university.
