On the afternoon of November 17th, the 2023 Young Student Meeting of the World Engineering Education Conference took place at the Zhaohui Campus of Zhejiang University of Technology (ZJUT). Professor Kai Sang Lock, the President of the Washington Accord, Professor Gu Peihua, Academician of the Canadian Academy of Engineering and professor of Tianjin University, Professor Tu Shandong, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and professor of East China University of Science and Technology, and Cai Yuanqiang, Secretary of the CPC Committee of ZJUT, as well as Vice President Yu Xiaofen attended the meeting. A total of 120 young student representatives from the world gathered to discuss the development of engineering science and technology and to explore the innovation power of young students.
During the conference, young students from all over the world participated in discussions with experts and scholars in the field of engineering around the two main themes: “Engineering Technology and Sustainable Development of Mankind” and “Engineering Technology and Humanities Literacy”. This conference provided a platform for global young students to exchange ideas and aimed to guide them in better understanding the challenges facing global sustainable development, with a view to inspiring them to become drivers and innovators of global change.
