From July 16th to 18th, 2022, the first China Pharmaceutical and Chemical Engineering Conference was held in Hangzhou. Vice Governor Cheng Yuechong, Vice Chairman of China Chemical Society, Hua Wei, Secretary of the university’s Party Committee, Cai Yuanqiang, and President Li Xiaonian attended the conference, along with 10 academicians such as Shen Yinchu and Gao Congjie. Nearly 600 representatives from over 100 universities, research institutes, and enterprises across the country attended the conference.
Cheng Yuechong stated that the Zhejiang Provincial Party Committee and Provincial Government attach great importance to the development of medical science and technology, and to the growth of medical industry. They are stepping up efforts to build scientific innovation hubs of life and health, and foster a trillion-yuan health industry led by the pharmaceutical industry.
The conference was organized by the Pharmaceutical and Chemical Subcommittee of the Chemical Industry and Engineering Society of China (IESC), and hosted by Zhejiang University of Technology (ZJUT) and the Zhejiang Society of Bioengineering. It aims to promote communication and cooperation between industry, academia, and research, to help the academic and scientific research fields to systematically carry out basic research, cutting-edge technology development, key technology R&D, and its promotion and application of pharmaceutical and chemical industry, and ultimately, to promote the all-round revitalization and breakthrough of China’s pharmaceutical industry.
