Established in 2001, College of Pharmaceutical Science is characterized with a series of excellent teaching and research platforms such as Zhejiang Pharmaceutical Innovation Base (provincial top discipline), Research Center for Modern Chinese Medicine Manufacturing Technology (Zhejiang Base), Zhejiang Nevel Medicine Innovation & Manufacture Service Platform, Zhejiang Key Laboratory of Pharmaceutical Engineering, and National Key Laboratory Breeding Base of Green Chemistry (Green Synthesis), etc. These institutes engage in the researches of Medicine and Intermediate Chemistry, Medicine Synthesis Technology, Natural Medicine Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Biology Technology, and Development and Application Technology of Biological Medicine Resources, etc.
At present, the college offers 1 doctoral program, i.e., Medicinal Chemistry, 2 master programs, i.e., Pharmaceutical Analysis (the first-class discipline) and Biochemical Engineering, 1 Engineering master's program, i.e., Pharmaceutical Engineering, and 3 undergraduate programs, i.e., Pharmaceutical Engineering, Pharmaceutical Analysis and Pharmaceutical Manufacturing. Among the 67 faculty members are 4 doctoral supervisors, 22 supervisors of master ' s candidates, 15 professors and 20 associate professors. Nearly half of them hold a doctor's degree. 2 teachers have entered the first section of Zhejiang “ 151” Talents Project, and another 2 has been entitled as “Middle-aged and Young Discipline Forerunners of Zhejiang Universities and Colleges”.
In recent years, the college has undertaken over 80 projects, including National Science and Technology key projects, projects sponsored by National Medium-size and Small Enterprises Innovation Fund, by National Natural Science Fund, by Zhejiang Natural Science Fund, projects of National Key Trial-Manufacture New Product, of Zhejiang Important Scientific and Technological Bids-Inviting & Submitting, of Zhejiang Key Scientific and Technological Program, International Cooperation Projects, and Zhejiang Technology Innovation Projects, etc. The college has been awarded 13 national or provincial awards for scientific and technological progress, including 1 Liu Yongling Prize from Ministry of Science and Technology, 12nd prize of scientific and technological progress from the Ministry of Education. Three kinds of new medicine have been submitted to higher authorities. 4 monographs and over 350 articles on science and technology have been published, and over 180 are included in the SCI. Among the over 40 patents applied by the college, 10 have been granted. The college has also established 5 Manufacture and Experiment Research Bases and 10 joint Research and Development Centers with enterprises in Zhejiang Province .
