The College of Information Engineering of Zhejiang University of Technology (ZJUT) is based on the department of electronic engineering founded in 1977. Five majors for undergraduates including Electronic Information Engineering, Communication Engineering, Automation, Electrical Engineering and the Automatization Specialty and Electrical Science and Technology have been set up. Meanwhile, the college has one first-level doctoral program of Control Science and Engineering and one post-doctoral mobile station; two first-level master’s programs of Control Science and Engineering, Information and Communication Engineering; one second-level master’s program of Systems Analysis and Integration; two engineering master cultivation fields including Control Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering. Among the provincial colleges involving Electronic Information in Zhejiang province, our college is the first one equipped with Doctoral programs and post-doctoral mobile stations. There are more than 2200 undergraduate and graduate students.
The college currently has 146 faculty members and one shared academician of Chinese Academy of Sciences with 13 doctoral supervisors, 73 full professors and associated professors, which include winners of Outstanding Young Investigator Award, winners of national and provincial talents program, National level candidates of “New Century millions of talent program”, distinguished professors of Zhejiang Province, winners of program for new century excellent talents of Ministry of Education, Provincial prestigious teacher.
The college owns “the best of the best” subject of Control Science and Engineering, the key subjects of Information and Communication Engineering, Electronics and Power Driven, the key laboratories of Communication Network Technology, Embedded System, Signal Processing, the experimental teaching demonstration centers of Electronics and Electrical, Embedded System in Zhejiang province.
The college carries out research in the automation equipment and industrial robot, information processing and intelligent traffic, smart grid, communication network and so on. It undertakes a series of scientific research projects and commissioned projects of enterprises, including 863 Program, National Key Technology Research and Development Program, National Natural Science Foundation of China, Science and Technology Major Project of Zhejiang Province. In addition, the college achieves 1 second prize from National Science and Technology Progress Award, more than 10 items of the Provincial Science and Technology Achievements Award.
The college develops cooperation of personnel training, scientific research and other aspects with universities in American, England, France, Canada, Germany, Australia, Armenia, Hong Kong and other countries and regions.
