The College of Computer Science and Technology (CS), including the Software college, is one of the largest, liveliest, and fastest growing colleges in Zhejiang university of technology. The College now has more than 190 faculty members with 35 full professors and over 70 associate professors, of whom high-level talents are recruited including a shared CAS (Chinese Academy of Sciences) member, a nation-level education teaching star, a Science and Technology Innovation Leading Talent of national Ten Thousand Talent Program, outstanding teachers honored with Special Government Allowances fund and an award winner of national Millions of Talents Program. At present, the school has enrolled more than 2,000 undergraduates and 1000 graduate students.
The CS College holds on to its discipline construction with one provincial first-class discipline (Class A) in Computer Science & Technology, one provincial first-class discipline (Class B) in Software Engineering, of which Computer Science & Technology is accredited as provincial key developing discipline with a top 1% ranking in ESI global list.
The College owns the first-level discipline postdoctoral research program and doctoral program in Computer Science & Technology, two master programs in Computer Science & Technology and Software Engineering, with the professional doctoral and master degree program in electronic information engineering.
Provincial/ministerial level scientific research platforms have also been constructed, including the engineering research center of MoE on intelligent perception and system, provincial key laboratory for research on Visual Media Intelligent Processing Technology, and Zhejiang Cyberspace Security Innovation Research Center jointly built with the network information office of Zhejiang provincial Party committee.
The CS College has set up 5 specialties for undergraduates: Computer Science & Technology, Software Engineering, Network Engineering, Digital Media Technology and Data science and big data technology, and interdisciplinary programs including Experimental Class of Excellent Engineer and integrated dual-specialty program of Computer science and technology plus Intelligent Science and technology. In which, the Computer Science & Technology, software engineering, network engineering, Digital Media Technology are in the list of national first-class undergraduate specialty construction sites. Besides, international undergraduate students are also enrolled in Computer Science & Technology and Software Engineering.
The CS College takes basic research and applied basic research as the main target and constructs Research Institutes (or Engineering Centers), including Research Institute of Computer Network, Research Institute of Computer Software, Research Institute of Computer Intelligent Systems, Research Institute of Computer Vision, Research Institute of Space Information Computing, Research Institute of Digital Media Technology, Research Institute of Graphic Image, Research Institute of Intelligent Computing, Engineering Center for Artificial Intelligence, Research Center for Big Data and Research Center for Computer Teaching.
The CS College devotes itself to “Advocating innovation and cultivating with virtue”, continuously introduces advanced teaching and management experience, and sets up 100 practical and experimental stations with world leading software enterprises, 4 training and research centers with National Digital Entertainment Base and National Animation Base. The College keeps close relationship with national and international research agencies and universities, such as Loughborough University from UK, Dalhousie University from Canada, National University of Singapore, and Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, to cooperatively cultivate the talents.
