On January 21st, the inaugural meeting, as well as the first session of the Pharmaceutical and Chemical Industry and Engineering Committee of CIESC (The Chemical Industry and Engineering Society of China), was held in Zhaohui Campus of Zhejiang University of Technology both online and offline. Hua Wei, vice president and secretary general of CIESC and Cai Yuanqiang, secretary of the Party committee of the university attended the opening ceremony and delivered speeches. More than 50 member representatives from over 20 universities, research institutes and enterprises across the country attended the conference. Academician Zheng Yuguo, dean of the College of Biological Engineering, was elected chairman of the first committee, and Professor Xue Yaping was elected secretary general.
It is reported that the Pharmaceutical and Chemical Industry and Engineering Committee led by our school is the 40th committee of CIESC. It aims to promote the development of the application of frontier science and technology in the field of pharmaceutical and chemical industry and engineering in China. And it will further enhance cross-disciplinary communication, and build a platform for full interaction between industry, university and research.
