On March 23, 2019, Mr. Enno Aufderheide, Secretary-General of Alexander von Humboldt Foundation (AHF), and Ms. Susanne Lada’a, Consul of the Consulate General of Germany in Shanghai, together with other four delegation members, visited Zhejiang University of Technology (ZJUT).
Mr. Li Xiaonian, President of ZJUT, welcomed the guests for participating in the 2019 International Academic Conference of German Chancellor Fellowship in China.
Professor Li Xiaonian pointed out that ZJUT attaches great importance to expanding cooperation with German universities. It is hoped that the visit of the delegation will serve as a bridge between ZJUT and high-level German universities in promoting cooperation and exchange.
Mr. Enno Aufderheide said that the visit helped him to better understand the characteristics of ZJUT and its achievements in education, scientific research innovation, and university-enterprise cooperation. He also expressed AHF’s interest in helping ZJUT to establish bilateral cooperation with other high-level German universities in such fields as student and scholar exchanges.
Founded in 1860, Alexander von Humboldt Foundation is one of the most important international research funding agencies in Germany, as well as in the world, having established a great many funding awards. To date, around 29,000 young scholars, including 55 Nobel Prize winners, from more than 140 countries and regions in the world have received the Humboldt Fellowship.
