On January 26, 2019, Zhejiang University of Technology (ZJUT) held the opening ceremony of the 2019 "Home for the Remaining Students (Liu Jia Zhuang)" on Zhaohui Campus. It is the 15th year for this event, which is a special tradition of ZJUT to care for the students who stay on campus during the Spring Festival holiday.
The theme of this year’s event was “Happy Home for the Remaining, Happy Year of the Pig”. This year, a total of 236 students stayed in the university for the Chinese New Year, including 207 international students.
During the ceremony, each student was given a Peppa Pig stuffed toy in celebration of the Year of the Pig. Besides, the students made wishes for the New Year, exchanged New Year greeting cards, posted Spring Festival couplets, and made dumplings to celebrate the Chinese New Year.
ZJUT’s "Home for the Remaining Students" has been held for 14 consecutive years since its initiation in 2005. It won the title of “Zhejiang University Campus Culture Brand” and enjoys a great reputation both on and off the university campus.
