ZJUT President Meets with Delegation from Ghent University

On the morning of November 9, 2018, Rik Van De Walle, President, and Guido Van Huylenbroeck, Vice President, both of Ghent University, Belgium, together with 6 other delegation members visited Zhejiang University of Technology (ZJUT).
 
ZJUT President Li Xiaonian extended a warm welcome to the guests, and introduced ZJUT’shistory,recent developments in key disciplines and international exchanges and cooperation. 
 
He pointed out that ZJUT and Ghent University started conductingscientific research cooperation and exchanges in water treatment as early as in 2006. In June 2018, the two universities signed a memorandum of understanding, to promote their cooperative relationship.
 
President Van De Wallealsointroduced the general situation ofGhent University. He expressed great desire to work with ZJUT to facilitate scientific research cooperation.
 
Founded in 1817, Ghent University is a well-known comprehensive research university in Belgium. It ranked 92nd among universities worldwide in 2019 and is known as "one of the fastest growing universities in Western Europe."
