ZJUT President Visits Three Japanese Universities

From Nov. 16 to 19,President Li Xiaonian of Zhejiang University of Technology (ZJUT), on invitation, visited Hoshi University, the University of Tokyo, and attended the 50th anniversary of Ashikaga Institute of Technology. The visiting delegation included directors and deans from the International Office, the College of Biotechnology and Bioengineering and the College of Pharmaceutical Science of ZJUT.

During his visit to Hoshi University, President Li met his counterpart Takaharu Tanaka and Vice President Kiyoshi Sugiyama. After a brief recall of their exchange programmes, cooperation and achievements in pharmaceutical research in the last two years, the two parties focused on the development concepts, the administration systems and methods of building high level universities and high level disciplines. Later on, with the company of directors of the teaching department and the international department, President Li visited theProfessional Pharmacist Training and Teaching Laboratory and other related laboratories.

While visiting the University of Tokyo, President Li attended the signing ceremony of a full cooperation agreement between the College of Biotechnology and Bioengineering, ZJUT, and the Faculty of Agriculture, the University of Tokyo. President Li gave a brief introduction of ZJUT’s fortes of running the university and its development strategy of globalization. He then made himself clear that ZJUT will wholeheartedly support the cooperation between departments of the two universities, especially the programmes that will have ZJUT students study at the University of Tokyo as visiting students.

On the 50th anniversary of Ashikaga Institute of Technology, President Li delivered a speech as a representative of international cooperative universities. On behalf of ZJUT, he first expressed his congratulations to Ashikaga Institute of Technology and then delivered a speech titled ‘Globalization of ZJUT’.
