KNAW Academician Mark van Loosdrecht Appointed Honorary Professor of ZJUT

On the morning of 30 Oct., Prof. Mark van Loosdrecht, Academician of the Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences (Dutch: Koninklijke Nederlandse Akademie van Wetenschappen, abbreviated as: KNAW) and the Netherlands Academy of Technology and Innovation (AcTI) ,was appointed Honorary Professor of Zhejiang University of Technology (ZJUT) on his visit to the university.
 
Soon afterwards, Prof. Loosdrecht delivered an academic report titled‘Aerobic sludge granulation biotechnology and its application in a circular economy, which was about the origin, development and current application ofaerobic granular sludgeand its strengths and significance in sewage treatment.
 
He emphasized that,in most cases,it is unusual phenomenaon that are most likely to leads to scientific innovation, to which researchers should pay special attention in their scientific research.
 
At the end of his speech, Prof. Loosdrecht, as the editor of the world’s top environment journal Water Research, shared his experience on how to write an excellent English dissertation from aspects of a mind map  building, writing strategies and the order of writing.
 
Prof. Mark van Loosdrecht also works in the Department of Biotechnology, the Faculty of Applied Sciences,Delft University of Technology (TU Delft).
