Director of Masters in Forbidden City Had a Meet-and-Greet with Audience at Pingfeng Campus

Directed by Cui Yong, an associate professor from School of Humanities, the documentary film Masters in Forbidden City was put on screen on Dec. 16.

On Jan. 7, 2016, broadcast on CCTV-9, Prof. Cui’s documentary showed the restoration procedures of rare cultural relics preserved in the Forbidden City, such as paintings and calligraphy, bonze ware, timepieces, wooden ware, ceramics, lacquer ware, treasure mosaic, palace textile, etc., as well as the life stories of the restorers.

Based on the documentary, the film is an adaption that tells the hidden stories in the Forbidden City in greater detail.

In order to introduce this film to more teachers and students, the Publicity Department and the Library of ZJUT co-organized the ‘TED-ZJUT’ cultural forum, a talk given by the Director, which attracted more than 800 people.

During the talk, he shared stories behind the scenes, and commented, “This film tries to respect those craftsmen, and depict their memorable life stories”.
