On December 6th, Zhejiang Drama Ensemble(ZDE) put a new drama, Confucius, on the stage at Zhaohui Campus of Zhejiang University of Technology(ZJUT). It is a part of 2016 ‘Elegant Arts into Campus(EAC)’ Programme.
Ms. He Zhiyun, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the University, and about a thousand teachers and students attended the show.
Confucius is adapted from the life story of Confucius from his youth to his old age. It demonstrates the vicissitude of his whole life, in order to restore a more realistic image of Confucius as an ordinary person instead of a saint.
ZDE was founded on December 26th, 1949. It has produced more than 100 drama performances since establishment, including Confucius as a winner of the 6th Theatre Olympics back in 2014.
The 2016 EAC Programme at ZJUT was organized by the Party Committee of the University and hosted by League Alliance, aiming to enrich the cultural life in campus and enhance students’ tastes for arts.
