From October 20th to 22nd, Chinese Engineering Education Accreditation Association (CEEAA) experts group came to our university to examine engineering education accreditation majors.
"Washington Accord" observers, Dr. Lock Kai Sang from Institution of Engineers Singapore, Dr. Cyril Burkley from Institution of Engineers of Ireland and Dr. Patricia Daniels from Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology came to inspect the process. Their report will be an important basis for Chinese becoming formal member of "Washington Accord".
In three days of investigation, experts group examined the public engineering foundation experiment facilities, professional laboratory facilities, innovation center, training center, counseling center, reference room and library, reviewed teaching materials, organized students, employers and graduates symposia, and interviewed teachers and management. They reached consensus that certified majors had trained a large number of talented graduates and won good social reputation.
Dr. Lock Kai Sang represented the "Washington Accord" observer group to give thanks to the university. He said that observer group agreed that the Zhejiang University of Technology had a very good learning environment and made great efforts in engineering education.
China has become the probationary member of "Washington Accord" in 2103, and put forward application to become its official membership in 2014.
