Recently, the 12th National Art Exhibition, organized by the cultural department, China Federation of Literary and Art Circles, and Chinese Artists Association, is gradually bringing its collection of art works to an end. And then these masterpieces of Chinese artists and designers will be displayed at additional shows. Our teachers and students from the Art College have 9 works selected, 2 of which will be taken to Beijing for exhibition. This is the highest number of works in the exhibition since we began participating in it, and the selected ratio also ranks top compared with other universities in Zhejiang Province.
The Art College lays much emphasis on the exhibition, as not only does it organize and encourage students to take part in the exhibition actively, but also sets up relevant institutions to motivate professional teachers, especially those young teachers and students. And among the 9 accepted works, there are works made by professors, associate professors, common teachers and even the students. Also, there are still team collaborations among our faculties and faculties from Zhijiang College, or other professional colleges throughout the province. Their works, including oil painting, sculpture, industrial design, visual communication design, and so on, are original and unique with a wide range of themes. They are Salamander, a concept car used to put off fire by covering earth onto it, designed by Li Yong, Li Shu, Tang Siwei, Li Juan and Xia Yingchong. Another concept car is able to pick up and sort straws designed by Lu Chunfu, Wang Yinghao, and Wu Ming. Other notable projects include cultural creative design of mountains by Hu Keyan, child car seats designed by Li Yong, Ye Xiao, Lv Xin, and Liu Lihan, forklift trucks designed by Wu Ming, Li Yu , and Lu Chunfu, Perspective designed by Han Xi and Sun Jingfang, Memory of A Mill made by Shen Yingping; Focusing made by Han Xi and Sun Jingfang, and Flying Here and There made by Chang Hong. The first two will be sent to Beijing for display. The effort of the industrial design team should be noted as four works are industrial designs.
National Art Exhibition (NAE) is a big event held every five years and is the most demanding national art exhibition. Upholding the motto of expressing Chinese dream by art works and creating for the public, the 12th NAE spreads socialist values, displays the essence of Chinese culture and always insists on pursuing high-quality art. It has 13 different displays of all kinds of art in different cities. The displays are said to have started one after another. These events will last until this December.
