On September 9th, the 30th Teacher’s Day and awards ceremony for advanced collectives and advanced individuals of National Education System, was held in Beijing. President Xi Jinping, who also is Communist Party Chief and the Chairman of Central Military Commission, had a cordial meeting with commended representatives at the great hall of the people. On behalf of the CPC Central Committee and the State Council, he extended warm congratulations to all the commended advanced collectives and advanced individuals. At the same time, he extended season’s greetings to the vast number of teachers and educators in the country. Delta Green Pharmaceutical Collaborative Innovation Center, which was led by our school, was awarded jointly the Advanced Collective of National Education System by China’s ministry of Human Resources and Social Security and Ministry of Education. There were nine representatives of advanced collectives that accepted the award on the stage and that were commended at the meeting. Executive director of the center, professor Su Weike, went on the stage to accept the commendation by vice premier of the State Council, Liu Yandong.
Delta Green Pharmaceutical Collaborative Innovation Center, which is led by our school, was selected in the first batch of national “2011 Plan” in May 2013. It became one of the fourteen first national Collaborative Innovation Centers and has become the school’s focal point for promoting innovation by focusing on talent, discipline, and scientific research. It is also the testing ground for discussing comprehensive school reforms and promotes the ability to solve the major problems of economic and social development.
In the last two years, the center has formulated, perfected and coordinated the implementation of a series of management systems and several derailed regulations, such as “Measures for the Employment and management of innovation team center”, “Measures for the Implementation of Hiring High Level Talents”, “Performance assessments of major scientific research projects” and so on. The center has gathered a group of high level talents in the pharmaceutical industry, established cooperative training patterns for creative talents, and promoted the construction of superior discipline groups. These successes have gained the school more educational resources, policy support and improve educational connotations significantly.
Through collaboration and innovation, the central focus is on breaking through more than 20 key common technologies which reach the international advanced level, such as the routing of drug manufacturing and green design, green substitution of toxic and hazardous substances, etc. These technologies effectively support and build the national southeastern Zhejiang export base of chemical raw materials, and Hangzhou Bay Industrial Park, as a domestic, first-class, advanced modern world pharmaceutical model. Technological achievements implemented enterprises and built the fifteen world’s largest and strongest staple production bases, such as Carbamazepine and Naproxen. What is more, these achievements generated direct economic benefits of more than 100 billion yuan. Currently, the center is accelerating collaborative research and development of a group of important drugs with Pregabalin, Rosuvastain, Plavix, Lipitor, etc.
